Lenovo announces that 80% of the equipment will be repairable by 2025
CTOnews.com news on October 6, Lenovo senior vice president and smart device group president Luca Rossi (Luca Rossi) delivered a speech at the 2023 Canalys EMEA forum, promising to achieve a net zero emission policy by 2050, and estimated that 80% of its devices will be repairable by 2025.
CTOnews.com translates some of Rosie's speech here as follows:
In terms of repairable, we plan that more than 80% of the repair parts can also be repaired again by 2025, further promoting the circular economy and reducing the impact on the environment.
More than 80% of Lenovo's devices on hand can be repaired through consumers or channels, and Lenovo will improve its maintainable design to make it easier to achieve this.
Lenovo has a better reputation for maintainability than Apple. For example, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 scored 7 on the iFixit platform (out of 10, the higher the score, the easier to repair). Europe plans to introduce a maintenance bill in June next year to ensure that consumers have a better understanding of the life and repairable of the technology equipment they buy.
