This change was originally scheduled to be launched on October 16, 2023. However, Microsoft has adjusted this based on user feedback and will no longer launch this update to maintain the existing album experience.

CTOnews.com noted that according to Microsoft's previous email, images saved to Gallery and Albums will distinguish between computing space, meaning the same image will take up at least twice the space. OneDrive's gallery automatically contains all the photos that users upload to the cloud, so deleting a photo in the gallery will cause the photo in the album to be deleted synchronously. After taking effect on October 16, users will automatically include them in the gallery (Gallery) after uploading pictures. If the same picture appears in multiple albums, the space occupation of these pictures will be calculated many times, but after the gallery is deleted, the album will not be affected.
