CTOnews.com October 8 news, Nokia and Spanish host operator lyntia PSE-6s live network demonstration, lyntia is using the next generation of coherent optical devices in the live network to effectively improve the capacity, transmission distance and performance of the optical transmission network between Portugal and Spain.

The live network experiment was conducted at Barcelona Submarine Landing Station (CLS), a key gateway to European and international destinations and a neutral hosting and interconnection hub for Internet service providers, content providers and operators.

In the existing network environment, Nokia's PSE-6s achieved an error-free rate of 800Gb / s on a 1900 km optical transmission network composed of 12 CDC-F ROADM nodes with a total of 25 spans; in addition, it achieved a transmission rate of 1.2 Tb/ s on a 100 km optical transmission ring network in Barcelona, composed of 7 CDC-F ROADM nodes with a total of 6 spans.

CTOnews.com notes that Nokia launched its sixth generation super coherent photonic service engine PSE-6s on February 20, supporting efficient delivery of high-speed services at distances of 2000 km and above, including 800GE Ethernet.

The Nokia PSE-6s Photonic Service Engine supports a unique chip-to-chip interface that enables it to be deployed in pairs, supporting the industry's first 2.4Tb / s coherent transport solution that allows network operators to efficiently transport any combination of high-speed client services, including 400GE and 800GE.

The PSE-6s also triples the performance of the optical transmission platform, supporting 800GE traffic in metro and data center interconnect (DCI) applications, as well as services over 2000 km and beyond over long-haul networks and submarine cables.
