CTOnews.com, Oct. 10, Allstate Protection Plans recently launched a more scientific and rigorous durability test, testing the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra;, which both sell for $1199, and the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Pixel Fold, which cost $1799 for both phones.

Waterproof test all four flagship models passed the immersion test and were pulled out after soaking in 6 feet of water for 30 minutes.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max and Galaxy S23 Ultra fell face down and cracked after falling from a height of 6 feet to the concrete floor.

In the front screen drop test, the iPhone 15 Pro Max shattered on the first fall and could not be used because the glass fragments were protruding and loose. The same thing happened to Galaxy S23.

CTOnews.com note: Z Fold5 and Google Pixel Fold can withstand two screen falls, resulting in frame damage, screen sags, and wear, which Allstate attributes to the raised edges around the inner edges of each display.

During the back drop test, both the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra were immediately broken. The iPhone 15 Pro Max still works, but two of the cameras are no longer working due to broken camera glass.

Allstate Protection Plans tests iPhone every year, and although Apple has upgraded its glass, it hasn't improved much. Apple is using stronger back glass and front super ceramic panels, but the glass is still glass and will still break after falling to the ground.
