CTOnews.com, October 12, GAC GROUP announced today that the board of directors agreed that Guangzhou Development Zone Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Development Zone Investment Group Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, should jointly invest no more than 155 million US dollars in RMB and no more than 149 million US dollars in Didi self-driving company (CTOnews.com Note: about 1.088 billion RMB at present).

Among them, GAC GROUP specially increased the capital of Guangzhou Automobile Capital Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary, by no more than 75 million US dollars to set up a special fund and participate in this investment.

According to previous CTOnews.com reports, in May this year, GAC Ean New Energy vehicle Co., Ltd. signed a deepening cooperation agreement with Didi self-driving Company to jointly launch the self-driving new energy production vehicle project, the "AIDI Plan", and announced the establishment of a joint venture.

According to the AIDI plan, GAC Eian and Didi self-driving will set up a joint venture to jointly define and mass produce shared travel L4 self-driving new energy vehicles to promote the ecological construction of self-driving travel at full speed.

The first mass production model will be based on Guangzhou Auto EA AEP3.0 pure electric platform, Xingling electronic and electrical architecture and multi-fusion sensing self-driving mass production technology, equipped with Didi self-driving L4 urban generalization engine and unique self-driving technology for travel service.

This volume car will be connected to the Didi shared travel network in 2025, claiming to be able to achieve all-weather, large-scale mixed order dispatch and accelerate the landing of L4 commercialization.
