The developer claims $353 million from Meta, accusing it of terminating the transaction for "exclusive" use of the application.
CTOnews.com, Oct. 13, according to Bloomberg, a developer sued Meta, accusing the company of abandoning its cooperation in order to "monopolize."
The developer, Andre Elijah, has also worked well with Meta to develop the yoga app AEI Fitness, which includes action demonstrations from top instructors and teaches various postures as well as Pilates and mindfulness.
Elijah said it recently reached a partnership with Meta to showcase AEI Fitness at last month's Meta Connect.
After Elijah prepared the keynote speech and made a "gorgeous trailer" for it, he was told that the deal was terminated. Meta banned Elijah from using Meta Connect and added his name to the "blacklist of developers who refuse to do business with it."
Elijah said the whole demonstration was very complex and painstaking and had been prepared for a very long time, and was told when he planned to attend CEO Mark Zuckerberg's keynote speech: "the project has been terminated and we will not be paid."
In the lawsuit, Elijah believes that the most important reason for Meta to terminate this cooperation is to learn that Elijah and Apple, byte jump to discuss cooperation, to introduce AEI Fitness into Vision Pro Touxian and Pico platform.
In the lawsuit, Elijah argued that Meta's retaliation would "lead to less innovation, quality and choice, less pressure to compete for the most talented app developers, and could lead to an increase in the price of VR fitness apps."
Bloomberg reported that Meta has paid about $1.5 million to Elijah, Elijah has added $3.2 million (currently about 23.36 million yuan) to the lawsuit, and millions of dollars in damages, totaling $353 million (currently about 2.577 billion yuan).
