Mercedes-Benz launches eActros 600 pure electric long-distance truck to continue 500km

CTOnews.com, October 15 (Xinhua)-- Mercedes-Benz has launched a new generation of all-electric long-distance truck eActros 600, which has more battery capacity than 600kWh and a new high-efficiency electric drive axle that can achieve a range of 500km. Mercedes-Benz will go on sale this year and plan to start mass production by the end of 2024.

CTOnews.com noted that the eActros 600 uses a typical forward-moving cab design of an European truck, with two electric motors with a continuous output of 400kW (536hp) and three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs with a total capacity of 621kWh, matching a four-speed gearbox and a peak power of 600kW.

The car can support the CSS charging standard, charging rate 400 kW, will also achieve megawatt charging. At a charging station with an output power of about 1 megawatt, the vehicle can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

The car has a total traction weight of 88185 pounds (40 metric tons) and is available in two chassis versions: 6 × 2 with a wheelbase of 181.1 inches (4600 mm) and 4 × 2 with a wheelbase of 157.4 inches (4000 mm).

Mercedes-Benz is currently building a fleet of about 50 prototype cars, some of which will be delivered to the first batch of customers for practical testing in the next phase.
