CTOnews.com, October 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced that with the completion and opening of the 5G base station in Jim Township, Ali Gaize County, marking the access of all townships and townships in Xizang Autonomous region to the 5G network, this is another milestone after the previous county access to 5G.

Puma Jiangtang is the administrative township with the highest elevation in China, with an average elevation of 5373 meters and a poor natural environment. The field measurement shows that the experience is good within 1 km, with 5G uplink rate 95.83Mbps and downlink rate 326.38Mbps.

CTOnews.com noted that since the start of 5G construction in 2019, Xizang's information and communication industry has planted poles, optical cables and base stations between snow-capped mountains and glaciers, deep mountains and dense forests and cliffs, and successively completed 5G "going to the plateau" and 5G "climbing Mount Everest" one after another.

As of September, the information and communications industry in the region has invested 3.2 billion yuan in 5G construction, with a total of 8710 5G base stations and 1.84 million 5G users, with 23 5G base stations per 10,000 people in the region.
