CTOnews.com, Oct. 18, Onsemi recently launched a series of low-power image sensors called Hyperlux LP for smart doorbells, security cameras, AR / VR headers, machine vision and video conferencing in home and office scenarios.

The Hyperlux LP low-power image sensor has a pixel size of 1.4um and has three specifications of 5 million, 8.3 million and 2000 megapixels. After turning on low-power mode, the battery life can be increased by up to 40%.

On Semet said that Hyperlux LP's innovative silicon design and pixel architecture provide "industry-leading image quality" and "clear and vivid images even in low light conditions" in both visible and near-infrared light.

Hyperlux LP mainly has a built-in "Wake on Motion" algorithm, which can dynamically switch sensor modes. It runs with low power consumption in conventional mode, reduces power consumption, and automatically switches to a high-performance state after a moving object is detected.

The other is "smart ROI", which can implement regions of interest in a limited bandwidth network, provide a contextual view of the scene, and a full-resolution separate ROI.

These functions, coupled with on-chip secondary sampling options such as pixel merging, can reduce part of the workload of the image signal processor by preprocessing data, thus further saving power consumption and improving system performance. Low power consumption also reduces heat generation and does not require a radiator.

On Semiconductor is an American semiconductor supplier, formerly the semiconductor components division of Motorola Group, with an industry leading position in automotive, industrial and cloud power semiconductor components.
