CTOnews.com news on October 18, Tesla has not released an Autopilot security data report for nearly a year. It is not clear what is behind it, but this is disappointing because the company has not kept its Autopilot data transparent while failing to deliver on its promises.

Since 2018, Tesla has been trying to establish a benchmark for the safety of his Autopilot system by publishing quarterly reports that compare the number of accidents per mile when the Autopilot system is turned on and off. But Tesla suddenly stopped publishing these quarterly reports in 2022 without giving any explanation.

CTOnews.com noted that in January 2023, the company released another report for the first three quarters of 2022. A few months later, the company released its fourth-quarter report, but then stopped publishing data again, and there has been no new data for nearly a year.

These data are far from objective because the Autopilot system is mainly used on highways. At the same time, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data is aimed at accidents everywhere and all vehicles, including old vehicles that are unmaintained and more prone to accidents, which are unfair compared to new cars such as Tesla.

Tesla stopped publishing the data, probably because he found the report not so useful. Another explanation is that there has been no improvement in the Autopilot system in the past year, which Tesla may have tried to cover up.
