CTOnews.com, October 20 (Xinhua)-- the number of visitors to X (Twitter) fell by nearly 10% from 6.4 billion in August to 5.8 billion in September, according to SimilarWeb, a visitor tracking site.

CTOnews.com noted that about 83% of the 176 countries that visited X in September saw a decline in traffic. Google trend data show that searches for X have been declining since Mr Musk took office, from about 14 million searches a month to about 1100 million.

It is worth mentioning that X announced this week that it would launch a pilot program in New Zealand and the Philippines, where new users would have to pay $1 a year to use basic functions such as posting, leaving existing users unaffected. X says this is the only way to fight robots on the platform, not a profit driver.

In addition, X will launch two new subscription services, one of which is cheaper and has all membership functions, but does not reduce advertising, while the other higher-priced version can remove advertising.

Twitter blogger Aaron learned by digging into the X platform code that X platform advanced subscriptions will be subdivided into three levels: basic, standard and Plus.
