According to CTOnews.com news on October 20, China Telecom reported that its revenue in the third quarter of 2023 was 122.424 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1 percent over the same period last year. Its net profit was 6.948 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1 percent over the same period last year. Non-net profit was 6.765 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9 percent over the same period last year.

China Telecom's operating revenue in the first three quarters was 381.103 billion yuan, an increase of 6.5 percent over the same period last year, of which service revenue was 349.743 billion yuan, an increase of 6.4 percent over the same period last year. The net profit of homing was 27.101 billion yuan, up 10.4% over the same period last year; the non-net profit was 27.212 billion yuan, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year; and the basic earnings per share was 0.30 yuan.

CTOnews.com noted that revenue from mobile communications services in the first three quarters was 151.916 billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 percent over the same period last year, a net increase of 14.63 million mobile users to about 406 million, a net increase of 39.65 million users of 5G packages to about 308 million, with a penetration rate of 75.8 percent. Mobile users' ARPU (average monthly income of mobile services / average number of mobile users) was 45.6 yuan, an increase of 0.2 percent over the same period last year.

The operating cost of China Telecom in the first three quarters was 266.329 billion yuan, up 6.1 percent over the same period last year; sales expenses were 40.752 billion yuan, up 0.1 percent over the same period last year; management expenses were 27.035 billion yuan, up 6.4 percent over the same period last year; and R & D expenses were 7.335 billion yuan, an increase of 24.0 percent over the same period last year.
