It is reported that the global game subscription service market grew significantly in 2020 and 2021, and although it stagnated in 2022, it is expected to recover again this year, with an estimated growth of 10.9% to reach $16 billion (currently about 117.12 billion yuan). Among them, Sony and Microsoft take the lead, with 51 million subscriptions.

George Jijiashvili, senior chief analyst at ▲ Touyuan OmdiaOmdia, said that subscription has become the strategic basis of the leading company, and manufacturers are constantly expanding their functions and improving exclusive content. However, whether "subscription can be used as the main business model" has not been confirmed, although some gamers may apply the relevant model, but it is difficult for game manufacturers to maintain heavyweight works with the "subscription model", which will put a lot of pressure on finance.

Accordingly, George Jijiashvili believes that at this stage, although subscription services will continue to grow, they will not become the dominant business model of the game.
