CTOnews.com, October 24 (Xinhua)-- LG Display is developing a new OLED panel called "RDE" for Apple, which is expected to be installed in Apple's future iPad product line, according to South Korean media The Elec.

It is reported that LG Display plans to start supplying Apple with new RDE panels next year, which is expected to be equipped with Apple's OLED iPad Pro model, which will be released next year.

LG Display is applying "RD" materials to automotive OLED and IT products for OLED, and there are reports that the company is developing a "RDG" panel, which is expected to be available on Apple's 2027 OLED MacBook device.

The OLED currently used in Apple's iPhone is a single-layer product with only one luminous layer.

The two-layer series OLED has two luminous layers, so it can produce the same brightness with less power than the single-layer method, and is expected to improve product efficiency and life.

Apple's first OLED iPad, scheduled for release next year, comes in 11-inch and 13-inch models. The panels are made by two companies: LG Display and Samsung Display.
