CTOnews.com, Oct. 24, VRChat is currently the most popular VR social platform, with millions of users. It has always been one of the top 10 most popular apps on Meta Quest, and there are usually tens of thousands of simultaneous online players on Steam (which supports non-VR mode) and launched on Android earlier this year.

VRChat currently displays "coming soon" in the Pico 4 app store, suggesting that the work is about to be launched in Pico 4.

Because the worlds and roles on most PC sides of VRChat are too elaborate to run smoothly on mobile chipsets, VRChat takes a decentralized approach. If the creator wants Quest and mobile players to join or use them, all worlds and characters must have mobile-optimized versions. Creators can upload two versions of the same content, one for PC and the other for mobile.

Considering that Pico 4 uses the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 mobile chipset as Quest 2, there is no performance problem for Pico 4 running VRChat.

Last year, VRChat added uncontrollable hand tracking support to Quest. Pico 4 also supports hand tracking, and Byte Jump has recently improved hand tracking through software updates, so it is possible that VRChat will also support Pico 4's hand tracking.

Earlier, CTOnews.com quoted thepaper.citing thepaper.cn as saying that several people familiar with the matter have recently left and transferred the heads of Pico's core business, and Byte Jump is reconsidering the strategic positioning of Byte Jump VR (Virtual reality) business PICO.
