Meta CTO: will improve the perspective function of Quest 3 head display

Although the perspective function of Quest 3 is better than that of Quest Pro and more leapfrog than the monochrome perspective of Quest 2, it is still far from perfect. In the case of dark light, the perspective quality will be greatly reduced, and the image will have a lot of noise.

I am very happy with everyone's current experience of perspective, which is very positive. We see people wear it to wash dishes in their daily life, and I like to see those videos. But the answer is yes, it will continue to improve. As we continue to get real-world lighting conditions and information from the sold head display, we will begin to adjust the algorithms that drive it more effectively. So I think this feature will continue to improve moderately for some time, when we will be able to better estimate where your hand is and deal with distortion, and we will continue to improve it as we did with Quest Pro.
CTOnews.com noted that Meta's Quest Pro has improved perspective through software updates since its release in October 2022, but according to user reports, the quality has not improved significantly. Quest 3 will sell more because of its lower price, which hopefully will motivate Meta to improve its perspective more significantly over time.
Apple's Vision Pro headset will also be released next spring, a hybrid reality headset that will improve the quality of perspective and put pressure on Meta to improve Quest 3.
