CTOnews.com noted that the acquisition is part of BP Pulse's plan to invest $1 billion in charging stations in the United States by 2030. "selling our fast charging hardware is a new step for us and a step we hope to expand," Rebecca Tinucci, senior director of Tesla charging infrastructure, said in a statement.

The Tesla charger will be launched in BP brands such as Travel Centers of America and Amoco as early as 2024, BP said, as well as the purchase of Tesla for its fleet by partnering with companies such as Hertz, a car rental company, at third-party locations (which has signed its own agreement).

BP's electric vehicle charging business, BP Pulse, has installed more than 27000 charging stations and plans to install more than 100000 charging stations worldwide by 2030.

It is understood that the first batch of charging stations will be installed in Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Chicago and Washington.

The Tesla ultra-fast charger with an output power of 250kW will be installed and operated by BP Pulse and is compatible with the North American charging Standard (NACS) and combined charging system (CCS) connectors, making it possible to charge electric vehicles from other automakers.
