Due to engine change, V Society answers the reason why "counter-Terrorism Elite 2 (CS2)" is not named "CS:GO2".
CTOnews.com October 30 news, "Anti-Terrorism Elite 2 (CS2)" has been officially launched on September 28, according to previous reports by CTOnews.com, V Society will stop supporting "Anti-Terrorism Elite: global offensive (CS:GO)" on January 1, 2024, and after installing "CS2", this work will cover the original "CS:GO" by default.
In an interview with PC Gamer a few days ago, V Society answered the reason why the work was named "CS2" instead of "CS:GO2".
"CS2" has experienced the biggest technological leap in the history of the "CS" series, and every system has undergone a fundamental change. Every map, every weapon, every animation and every sound is based on a new engine, because the game is so different from "CSGO" that we no longer think of them as the same game.
In addition, the V Club claimed that "from the beginning, the development team knew that 'CS2' would eventually replace 'CS:GO' and they wanted to ensure that players could retain as many CS:GO skills and items as possible", so in the early stages of game development, the development team began to bring all the weapons, stickers and music from 'CS:GO' to CS2.
