CTOnews.com, October 31, according to the official news of CRRC, the overall modernization project of Metro Line 1 in Mexico City, undertaken by CRRC, was officially put into operation on the evening of October 29 in Mexico (early morning of October 30, Beijing time). The Metro Line 1, which has been in operation in Mexico City for half a century, is "updated".

According to the introduction, Mexico City Metro Line 1, with a total length of 18.83km, with 20 stations, is the most important subway line in Mexico, with a daily passenger capacity of more than 1 million.

The overall modernization project of Mexico City Metro Line 1 is the first overseas "system +" project of CRRC, which involves investment and financing, new construction of vehicles, as well as the comprehensive modernization and upgrading of existing vehicle communication signal systems, lines and electromechanical systems, and system-wide maintenance. The service period is as long as 19 years. In 2022, it was selected into the "Top Ten Global PPP Project Classic cases" of the United Nations Development Programme.

CTOnews.com official learned that the newly modified Metro Line 1 is equipped with a brand-new CBTC system (automatic train control system based on wireless communication), which can realize automatic acceleration and deceleration, automatic dispatching and automatic parking, which greatly improves the operation efficiency; second, the brand-new track system solves the problem that wooden sleepers are prone to moisture corrosion in the past, and greatly improves the overall strength and service life of the track. Third, the brand-new passenger information system and broadcasting system add the train arrival reminder function, which can make passengers understand the train running time more intuitively.

In addition, CRRC has also developed a new type of rubber-wheeled subway train for Mexico City Metro Line 1. The train is composed of 9 sections, with a maximum operating speed of 80 kilometers per hour and a capacity of up to 2252 passengers. It creatively adopts bogies with large rubber wheels and small rubber wheels, with 8% climbing capacity and 45 m curve radius passing capacity.

In order to fully promote the construction of the project, CRRC has built a local chemical plant in Cretaro, Mexico, actively promoted local manufacturing, delivered 15 trains of vehicles with a total of 135sections, and developed more than 100 local suppliers, driving the development of the local rail transit equipment industry chain. At the same time, it trained nearly 300 Mexican technicians and provided nearly 1500 jobs.
