R Star: its games will no longer support Win7 and Win8 systems from January 30, 2024.
CTOnews.com, October 31, 2010. Microsoft no longer provides security updates or technical support for Windows 8.1 since January 10, 2023, and Win7 terminated support on January 14, 2020.
R Star officially updated its support announcement, announcing that the Rockstar Games Launcher game launcher and the supported R Star games will no longer support the Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems from January 30, 2024.
In order to prevent service outages in the future and to continue to use the new features, R Star recommends that users of the above systems upgrade to a supported operating system as soon as possible.
CTOnews.com reported in September that Microsoft announced that it would close free upgrades from Windows 7 and 8 to Windows 11 and 10. In other words, it is no longer possible to upgrade genuine Win11 systems free of charge from Win7 and Win8.
In fact, most games have begun to abandon their old system support. For example, League of Legends no longer supports 32-bit Windows operating system on April 4.
