Nokia once planned a "periscope" phone, but eventually chose the 808 PureView "big bottom and high pixel" road.

Damian Dinning, a former engineer of Nokia's imaging team, recently posted a post on the X platform, reviewing Nokia's early plans to develop a phone with a periscope lens as the successor to the N93i in 2007.

The Nokia Imaging team took a different approach, handing over the Nokia 808 PureView with a "big background and high pixel" to the world.
