CTOnews.com, Nov. 2 (Xinhua)-- according to foreign media Variety, movie star Scarlett Johansson is suing an AI app developer for using her name, portrait and even voice in an advertisement.

The developer produced the ad for an App called Lisa AI:90s Yearbook&Avatar, showing the behind-the-scenes footage of Scarlett Johansson filming the Black Widow, the report said. Scarlett in the advertisement said, "how are you? I'm Scarlett. Please come with me." But then, a voice generated by AI says, "it can make not only avatars, but you can also create videos using AI." The tone is similar to that of Scarlett Johansson herself.

At the bottom of the advertisement, the developer added the words "this image is produced by Lisa AI and has nothing to do with the parties." Scarlett Johansson's lawyer said, "We will not take this kind of incident lightly, in accordance with the usual practice, we will take all legal measures to deal with this matter."

CTOnews.com previously reported that another movie star, Tom Hanks, posted a picture on Instagram last month saying that the AI version of his portrait had been used in an online advertisement for a dental program without his consent. He confirmed that the images circulated were fakes created using AI technology without his own permission.
