CTOnews.com news on November 2, the State Railway Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. issued guidance on the railway transport of consumer lithium battery goods, in accordance with the regulations and standards such as the regulations on Safety Supervision and Administration of Railway dangerous goods Transportation Consumer lithium battery goods such as lithium metal batteries (groups) with lithium content less than 1g (2g) and energy rating not greater than 20Wh (100Wh) lithium ion batteries (groups) that meet the special provisions 78 and 79 of the Railway dangerous goods list shall not be transported as dangerous goods when transported by railway.

Railway transport may be handled by both parties in accordance with these guidelines and the relevant provisions on railway freight transport; when passing through the China-Europe train and other international railway intermodal transport, it shall also comply with the relevant provisions of international intermodal transport.

Consumer lithium batteries (such as safety defects, breakage, recovery or disposal of lithium batteries, etc.) that fall within the scope of the list of names of Railway dangerous goods 72 should not be transported by railway.
