CTOnews.com November 3 news, according to foreign media AutoCar reports, Tata Group's new luxury electric car brand Avinya will use Jaguar Land Rover's EMA SUV architecture to produce high-end trams. Adrian Madl, chief executive of Jaguar Land Rover, said Avinya would use the EMA platform under a license agreement with Tata passenger Electric vehicle (TPEM).

The brand launched a concept car of the same name in April 2022, featuring large space and flexibility, with a long wheelbase and rotatable front seats, and says it can add 310 miles (CTOnews.com Note: about 498.9 km) after 30 minutes of charging.

It is understood that the EMA architecture will be used in the next-generation range Rover Aurora, range Rover Star vein and Land Rover Discovery Sports version. The structure will provide 800V voltage and the peak power is expected to reach 350kW. The platform's batteries will be supplied by Tata's new plant in Somerset Bridgewater, which is scheduled to start production in 2026.

Madl said the deal had nothing to do with the Somerset plant and would not affect any of the company's other production plants in the UK or continental Europe. Avinya cars are not expected to be sold in Europe.

According to Jaguar Land Rover's third-quarter finances, its deal with TMEP is a memorandum of understanding and royalties have not yet been determined. The deal will also include Jaguar Land Rover to provide engineering services to accelerate the development of Avinya. The new brand's product line has been confirmed to consist of a "series" rather than a single model, which is scheduled to be launched in 2025.
