Foreign media confirmed that Apple will not produce 27-inch iMac computers with Apple Silicon processors.
CTOnews.com, Nov. 6 (Xinhua)-- Apple will no longer produce 27-inch iMac computers with Apple Silicon processors, The Verge reported tonight. The company has focused its iMac product line on the 24-inch model, which was first released in early 2021, and updated its M3 processor this fall.
Starlayne Meza, Apple's public relations representative, broke the news to The Verge a few days ago. For users who still have hopes for a larger iMac, Apple encourages them to consider a combination of Studio Display monitors and mainframes such as Mac Studio or Mac mini, it said.
Apple also said that the 24-inch iMac model has a 4.5K display, which makes up for the gap between the old Intel processor-based 21-inch 4K model and the 27-inch 5K model.
According to the report, the 27-inch iMac has been Apple's flagship consumer desktop computer for many years, with "far more influence than the average living room or home or office" and has entered many studios. However, due to Apple's delay in updating the 27-inch iMac with an Apple Silicon processor, many video editors, developers or creative people have switched to other computers.
According to a report by CTOnews.com earlier today, overseas blogger Revegnus recently claimed that Apple is planning to switch to OLED screens for all Mac devices and launch a series of iMac with larger screens.
