CTOnews.com, Nov. 7, Microsoft launched internal testing of the Bing Chat plug-in for a small number of users in August, but the feature was quietly offline some time ago due to performance or quality problems.

According to Windows Latest, the problem has been resolved and Bing Chat has re-started testing third-party plug-in functionality, which was seen by some users again last weekend.

Several users reported that Bing Chat on desktops and mobile devices has updated support for third-party plug-ins, but this feature is only available in Microsoft Edge Canary, and the first batch supports only five plug-ins, with a list of plug-ins attached to CTOnews.com:

Instacart: this plug-in allows you to use Bing Chat to discover recipes and ingredients and interact with answers.

Kayak: this is a plug-in that can help users easily book flights and can be used to plan travel. However, Microsoft is unable to place orders directly for the time being, and it can only provide advice at the moment.

Klarna: price comparison plug-in that allows US users to compare historical product prices with multi-platform prices.

OpenTable: a plugin for booking restaurants.

Shop: plug-ins for comparing prices and buying products.

In addition, these plug-ins are now running significantly faster. Microsoft has previously revealed that its Bing Chat has made infrastructure upgrades to AI features, which seems to explain why plug-ins are performing better now.

Microsoft also said that no more than three plug-ins can be used in a conversation. If you want to switch between plug-ins, you need to open a new conversation topic.

It is worth mentioning that Bing Chat may support more plug-ins in the future. Microsoft has previously said that new ChatGPT plug-ins will be gradually added to Bing, which means that you will be able to experience more third-party plug-ins at some point in the future.
