According to the information shared by the media, the Sony A9 III, which is aimed at photographers shooting sports and wildlife, will be equipped with a global shutter design.

The Sony A9 III will use a 2400-megapixel sensor specifically developed for this purpose. There were earlier reports that Sony planned to increase to 3300 megapixels, but the latest news said that the frame rate was kept at a high level for the global shutter design, so the resolution could not be improved.

The global shutter allows Sony A9 III to stay ahead of mainstream sports and wildlife cameras such as Nikon Z 9 and Canon ROS R3. Although these two cameras reduce the typical distortion and warping of rolling shutters through very high readout speeds, they still have an impact.
