Apple 14-inch M3 Max MacBook Pro confirms support for "high energy consumption" mode

This feature was previously only available on 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max and M2 Max.

High power consumption mode can improve the performance of the system when dealing with tasks that are highly resource-intensive on graphics processors, such as 8K ProRes 4444 and 8K DNxHR video color toning.

In video editing and 3D applications, you can get a smoother playback experience and a faster export experience in energy-intensive mode.

In high power mode, the fan may run at a higher speed, so you may hear a louder fan noise. High power mode can be used regardless of whether the Mac is connected to power or not.
