Future Win10 / Win11 versions will be removed, Microsoft announces abandonment of Tips applications

CTOnews.com November 8, Microsoft officially updated the "deprecated features of Windows client" page and announced the abandonment of Tips applications in November 2023.

The relevant description of the CTOnews.com translation is as follows: "the Tips application has been deprecated and will be deleted in future Windows version changes. however, prior to deletion, the content in the application will continue to be updated to provide information about Windows functionality."

Microsoft Tips application is a pre-installed application for Win11 system, which not only allows users to quickly get started with a variety of new features, but also provides a variety of tips.

Microsoft Tips provides an introduction to many features, including discovering keyboard shortcuts, finding ways to optimize your computer, learning more about Office's productivity skills, and enhancing your ability to play games on Windows.

Microsoft also announced in November that it would abandon Computer Browser drivers and services, Webclient (WebDAV) services and Remote Mailslots services.

Remote Mailslots protocol is an outdated, simple, unreliable and insecure IPC method, which was originally introduced in MS DOS. By default, this protocol is first disabled in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build.
