CTOnews.com, November 10, the Alliance for connection Standards (CSA) today released a new standard called Aliro, which aims to simplify and improve the experience of smart phones and wearable devices using smart locks.

CSA is developing a new communication protocol that can simplify the operation of mobile devices and wearable devices to unlock smart doors. Like Matter, it does not need to install other applications and is compatible with existing smartphones or wearables.

CSA said that the goal of the "Aliro" agreement is to create a consistent user experience between proven hardware devices and promote the smart door-opening experience of consumer electronics.

CTOnews.com translates a speech by Tobin Richardson, President and CEO of CSA, as follows:

As we foresaw when we introduced the Matter protocol, global collaboration around the common mission of open standards is the best way to promote new technologies.

The alliance and its members are now using the same model to unlock the potential of the digital access experience, creating new standards and certificates to make it easier for mobile devices and smart door lock companies to adopt.

Aliro will be a universal communication protocol and credential that makes it easier to obtain digital keys to smart locks and to open doors using wearables or smartphones. CSA said it would have a "lasting impact" on the way people enter their homes, corporate offices, warehouses, hotel rooms, medical institutions, universities and so on.
