CTOnews.com, Nov. 10, Nothing today released Nothings OS 2.5 beta, which is based on Android 14 and allows Nothing Phone (1) and (2) owners to get updates by joining the Open Beta program.

Nothing OS 2.5 has added predictive return gesture (Predictive Back Gesture) features and widgets, as well as improved UI and custom side buttons, officials said.

The "predictive return gesture" added in this update is a gesture solution introduced by Google in Android 13 and further expanded in Android 14 to allow users to zoom out of the application window when sliding back to show a preview of the home screen.

Nothing has added its own aesthetic design system for predictive return gestures, using lattice-style side-sliding return icons and adding fade-in and fade-out animation effects.

Officials have highlighted the new widget feature in Nothing OS 2.5, but it is not yet available in the public beta and is expected to be launched in December. Nothing introduces Screen Time (screen usage time), pedometer, media player and other components, which are still designed in the typical Nothing minimalist color lattice style.
