CTOnews.com, Nov. 10-in a keynote speech held in September 2020, Apple said it was working with Anthem (now Elevance Health) to conduct a large-scale asthma study.

The study followed 900 asthma patients who participated in Medicaid and business plans, and participants received Apple Watch and sleep tracking pads to monitor respiratory rate, heart rate and other physical data, according to STAT.

The application helps users reflect on symptoms and triggers and provides tools to deal with emergencies. The latest survey data show that Apple Watch does reduce the number of visits for asthma patients to some extent, avoiding one visit for every four users participating in the program on average.

Bronwyn Harris (Bronwyn Harris), a cardiologist who helped design the product while working at Apple, is very optimistic about Apple Watch's potential for self-management of asthma.

However, the focus of this study is on Medicaid participants, but the actual situation is much more complicated. Although some breakthroughs have been made in related research, there is still a long way to go to promote it.
