CTOnews.com, November 11, Apple has greatly improved its auto-filling function in recent years, making it easier for users to automatically fill in passwords, addresses, credit card information, etc., when surfing the Internet.

Apple has further enhanced the auto-fill feature in the iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma versions released this year, allowing users to use the auto-fill feature anywhere on the system.

Ideally, when prompted for a password, the auto-fill function can automatically fill in the relevant password; when prompted for an address, automatically fill in the user's address information.

CTOnews.com note: in macOS Sonoma, you can now right-click in any text bar, select the "autofill" option, and then select autofill password or contact information.

Users can also tap the text field on iPhone and iPad, select the Auto-fill option, and then do the same.

When the user chooses to automatically fill in the password, the system will provide authentication using Face ID or Touch ID. After the authentication is complete, the user will see a list of login information saved in iCloud Keychain, including the user name, password, and two-factor authentication code.

Six Color's Dan Moren indicates that the auto-fill function can now be extended to any text box location such as third-party browsers such as Chrome. Users can open the macOS Chrome browser, you can right-click the text box, select "Auto fill", and then fill in the password or contact information.
