AMD releases Sharon 7000 series embedded processors: Zen 4 architecture, up to 12 cores and 24 threads

CTOnews.com, November 14, AMD today released the Ryzen Embedded 7000 series of embedded processors, the latest member of the Zen 4 series for a variety of embedded and edge applications.

Similar to the conventional AMD sharp dragon 7000 processor, the sharp dragon 7000 embedded series has a number of performance improvements over the previous generation of sharp dragon 5000 embedded series. The series has up to 12 cores / 24 threads, 65W to 105W TDP, DDR5-5200 ECC memory support, up to 28 PCIe 5.0s on-chip channels, and integrated RDNA2 GPU. AMD has not yet announced any BGA-based embedded product updates for Ruilong.

AMD is committed to providing seven-year support for the Ruilong 7000 embedded series processors, with system support for Linux and Windows, and motherboard support for X600, B650 and X670.

CTOnews.com notes that the 7600X and 7700X models are 105W versions that support CPU overclocking and follow the standard support cycle of the AMD client business unit. The 7645 / 7745 / 7945 processor is a 65W version with up to 12 cores / 24 threads, 3.7GHz base frequency, 5.4GHz acceleration frequency and 64MB level 3 cache, and longer seven-year support.

In terms of performance, AMD claims that 7945 is 31% higher than Intel i9-13900, 33% higher than Intel i7-13700 and 43% higher than Intel i5-13500.

According to the information obtained by the foreign media phoronix, the Ruilong 7000 embedded series does not support Ryzen AI, so there may be some deficiencies in AI development.
