OpenAI CEO confirms that it is developing GPT-5 and may have super intelligence.
CTOnews.com, November 14 (Xinhua)-- OpenAI has begun building a next-generation artificial intelligence model, ChatGPT 5. Sam Altman, the company's CEO, confirmed the news in a recent interview and claimed that the model is likely to have super intelligence, but further investment from its long-term partner Microsoft is needed to achieve this goal.
'The cooperation with Microsoft is very smooth, and he expects to raise more money from Microsoft and other investors in the future, 'Altman said in an interview with the Financial Times.
Altman noted that GPT-5 's training process will require an increase in the amount of data that will come from publicly accessible data sets on the Internet and exclusive data sets from private companies.
CTOnews.com noted that Altman also said it was technically difficult to accurately predict what new features and skills the model might have. "before we trained this model, it was like an interesting guessing game for us," Altman said. "We are trying to do better because I think predictive ability is important from a security perspective, but I can't tell you exactly what GPT-4 can't do and what it can do."
On products such as GPT-4 Turbo, which were unveiled at last week's developer conference, Altman said: "these are not our real products, they are just our channels, and our ultimate vision is to build AGI, ensure its security and benefit from it."
