CTOnews.com, Nov. 15 (Xinhua)-- although Apple's iOS 17.1.1 system, released last week, fixes the iPhone 15's wireless charging in BMWs, the problem has not been solved for GM users. Some GM users reported on Reddit and other online forums that they could not charge the iPhone 15 using a wireless charging board in the car after upgrading to iOS 17.1.

CTOnews.com noted that after receiving a number of complaints, Apple finally admitted last month an bug that affected iPhone 15 users to charge wirelessly in some BMWs. The bug will also temporarily disable iPhone 15's NFC features, such as Apple Pay, which Apple fixed in its iOS 17.1.1 system launched last week.

At the same time, however, GM users say that after upgrading to iOS 17.1, they will not be able to charge the iPhone 15 with a wireless charging board in the car. There are a lot of complaints from GM users on Reddit, GM Forum and Apple support Forum. However, these issues do not seem to affect NFC functionality.

It is not clear how common these problems are, nor which GM models are specifically involved. complaints from users of Bolt, Silverado, Sierra and other models can be seen online.

GM users said last week's iOS 17.1.1 system did not solve their wireless charging problems, nor did the current iOS 17.2 beta. Two GM users said they contacted Apple's customer service, but Apple's answer was to ask them to go to GM. Crucially, however, these users will be able to charge wirelessly before upgrading to iOS 17.1, so this is obviously related to the system update.
