Sources say Tesla plans to turn the front seat heating and wiper heating into a paid subscription function.

In recent years, carmakers have introduced the concept of subscription services, enabling or disabling features through software to generate extra revenue, but users obviously don't like to pay for what their vehicles already have.

Tesla has previously charged an extra fee for heating the rear seats of his entry-level model, which is installed in the car factory but costs $300 to activate it. Previously, front seat heating and wiper heating were standard features of Tesla, but now the situation seems to have changed.

According to blogger @ greentheonly, the 2023.38.8 software update shows that front seat heating and wiper heating will soon become paid features for new cars. It is not clear whether this is for all 2024 basic models or only for models sold in specific markets.
