American automaker Lucid launches Gravity model to enter SUV market: 440mph range, production by the end of next year
CTOnews.com, November 17 (Xinhua)-- Lucid announced the launch of a new all-electric luxury SUV Gravity with a starting price of $80,000 and a range of up to 440 miles (about 708.11 kilometers). It will be launched later this year and go into production by the end of 2024, pushing Lucid into the SUV market.
It is understood that SUV accounts for a large part of U. S. car sales, forming a growing market. Lucid has so far made a profit from Air cars, and it is difficult to attract consumer attention in the SUV market. Like its competitor Tesla, Lucid uses massive price cuts to boost sales.
Lucid Gravity retains the design elements of the Air model, such as front and rear lights. Derek Derek Jenkins, senior vice president of design and branding at Lucid, said the car was designed around two main aspects: openness and aerodynamics.
The car has a 34-inch curved cockpit display and a trunk size of 107 cubic feet (3.03 cubic meters).
