Google welcomes Apple's adoption of RCS: promoting fair and secure exchange of information

CTOnews.com, Nov. 17, Apple has promised to adopt RCS in 2024, but will not use Google's end-to-end encryption extension. Google subsequently issued a statement through AppleInsider, a foreign technology media, welcoming Apple to join.

IMessage will continue to be the default mode of iPhone-to-iPhone communication, and RCS will replace the existing SMS and MMS standards. However, text messages and MMS can still be used as alternatives if necessary.

RCS is a new generation of international standard for message service. The new generation of information service platform created by telecom operators can make "information is platform, user is customer, mobile phone is application".
