Mercedes-Benz's first charging center opens in the United States: 16 charging heads, rated 500kW

CTOnews.com, Nov. 17, HPC North America, a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and MN8 Energy, opened Mercedes-Benz's first electric vehicle charging station-Mercedes-Benz Charging Hub in the United States.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the charging station has a total of eight charging posts, each with two charging heads, which can charge up to 16 cars at the same time.

These chargers are provided by ChargePoint and the output power is 400kW. Electric vehicles in the United States, including the Lucid Air, Kia EV6 and Hyundai Inoniq 5, currently have a maximum charging power of 350kW, so the charging station can charge most of the cars currently on sale.

According to The Verge, ChargePoint claims that the chargers are rated at speeds as high as 500kW, which means they can also charge upcoming vehicles at maximum charging speed.

The charging station is equipped with a roof that provides wind and rain cover and lighting to ensure safety. The roof is also equipped with solar panels that can "generate passive clean electricity".

The charging station has an uncovered drive-in charging point designed for electric vans or electric vehicles with trailers up to 26 feet long. in addition, there is a 15-foot tower.

The charging station has a lounge with chairs, vending machines, refreshments and toilets, which, according to the company, allows customers to "enjoy a quality, clean and comfortable environment while the vehicle is recharged".
