CTOnews.com November 18, hours after OpenAI announced the departure of CEO and co-founder Sam Altman, Greg Brockman Brockmann, president and co-founder, announced in an X post, "based on today's news, I have resigned."

CTOnews.com noticed that Brockmann said he sent the following message to OpenAI employees:

Hello everyone,

Since I started working in my apartment eight years ago, I have been very proud of what we have all built together. We have experienced a difficult and good time together, and despite various reasons, we have achieved so much.

But according to today's news, I resigned.

I sincerely wish you all the best. I still firmly believe in the mission of creating safe and universal artificial intelligence for the benefit of all mankind.

It is understood that a few hours after Sam Altman was fired, the board said it "no longer believes in his ability to continue to lead OpenAI."

OpenAI's board of directors went through the "review process" and concluded that Altman did not always be honest with the board in his communication with the board, hindering the board's ability to perform its duties.

OpenAI's board includes chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, as well as Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo, technology entrepreneur Tasha McCauley and Georgetown Center for Security and emerging Technology Helen Toner and other independent directors.
