Meta shows the new AI image editing tool: the text command "where to hit", and the main background can be changed.
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues about the past. CTOnews.com November 19, Meta announced the release of two AI-based image editing tools for Facebook and Instagram, including photos and videos.
Among them, a tool called "Emu Edit" allows users to modify pictures based on text input. This function can achieve local and global fine control of the image through text instructions, including adding background, removing background, replacing main body and so on.
Meta officials said that unlike most generative AI currently on the market, Emu Edit can accurately follow instructions to ensure that other elements in the picture that are not related to the instructions are not affected, and that large models should only focus on precisely modifying the pixels that are relevant to the requirements.
The accompanying illustration of CTOnews.com is as follows:
Another tool, called "Emu Video", uses the same basic model as "Emu Edit" and generates video based on text prompts and still images.
However, Meta did not say when the two tools would be released, saying only that they are currently used only for basic research, but the potential use cases are already "obvious": "it will come in handy, from artistic directors coming up with new concepts and creators to invigorating the latest work, to friends sharing unique birthday wishes. We think this is something to celebrate."
Of course, Meta also stressed that these technologies are no substitute for professional artists and animators, but they can help people "express themselves" in new ways.
