The IMAX space science film "asteroid Hunter" will be released in the mainland on January 12 next year, with Dapeng in charge of narration.

CTOnews.com, November 20, IMAX announced that the original space-themed film "the Asteroid Hunter" will be launched in mainland IMAX cinemas and Arts Association cinemas on January 12, 2024, and a pre-release notice will be issued today.

According to reports, the film by the director and actor Dapeng served as "Star commentator" for the Chinese version of the voice, becoming the first actor in Asia to interpret the original IMAX film.

CTOnews.com query Douban learned that the film, which was released in the United States in 2020, is a short space science film with a length of only 40 minutes and a score of 8.2 and 7.5.

Written and produced by Phil Groves, produced by Jini Durr and directed by W.D. Hogan, asteroid Hunter introduces asteroid scientists-the best line of defense between Earth and asteroid destruction paths-and reveals the cutting-edge tools and techniques they use to detect and discover asteroids.

It is worth mentioning that NASA's DART (double asteroid Redirection Test) spacecraft successfully hit an asteroid called Dimorphos at the end of September 2022 in an attempt to change the asteroid's orbit by kinetic energy impact, the first test in the world to protect the Earth from the threat of asteroid impact.
