2023Q3 Global TV Market report: Samsung ranks first in sales accounting for 29.9%, LG dominates the OLED market

CTOnews.com, November 21, according to statistics released today by market research agency Omdia, Samsung Electronics TV sales accounted for 29.9% of the global market in the third quarter of this year, up 2.4% from the same period last year, firmly ranking first.

In terms of sales volume, Samsung Electronics' market share was 18.3% in the third quarter of 2023, ranking first in the world. In the high-end TV market, which sells for more than $2500, Samsung's global market share is as high as 62%, up 16.2% from the same period last year.

Although demand in the global TV market has declined compared with the same period last year, thanks to Samsung TV's expansion of its high-end brand range, Samsung is expected to remain number one in the world for the 18th consecutive year.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that LG Electronics shipped 2.0368 million OLED TVs in the first three quarters of this year, with a market share of 55%, ranking first in the world. Among them, the market share of super-large OLED TVs over 75 inches is as high as 60%. In August this year, LG Electronics launched the first wireless OLED TV series using 4K 120 Hz wireless transmission technology, which is actively meeting the needs of consumers for super-large high-end TVs.

Total shipments of LG electronic TVs, including OLED and LCD TVs, are 16.2978 million. Based on sales, LG TV has a global market share of 16.4%.
