CTOnews.com November 22, Sony Group announced that the company's nursing robots will be on display for a long time at the Japan Science Future Pavilion (located in Kangdong District, Tokyo) from November 22. Robots will be used to assist nursing facilities and communicate with occupants in order to raise awareness.

According to reports, the robot is called HANAMOFLOR, nicknamed "flower flower, flower sauce". It is a child-shaped care robot that can guard the caretaker while moving in the living room of the care facility.

The robot is designed with an approachable appearance and can match the movements and conversations of the elderly. It is 83 centimeters tall and weighs about 20 kilograms. It is used in living rooms and other places in nursing facilities where the elderly are alone.

CTOnews.com learned from the introduction to the exhibition that the robot can carry out simple conversations and puzzles according to pre-set procedures, as well as taking body temperature, transferring calls from family members of the caregivers, and simple entertainment (talking, singing, etc.).

Using Sony's own facial recognition and dialogue technology, the robot can communicate with people with symptoms of dementia by confirming each other's reaction.

In 2019, Sony began to develop HANAMOFLOR with the assistance of a special care center for the elderly in Kawasaki, and continued to conduct empirical experiments for practical use. Sony said its future plans for commercialization and mass production have not yet been decided.
