In order to solve this problem, the upcoming Sony camera will have a digital signature watermarking function, which claims to be able to help professionals "protect the authenticity of their work". Sony claims that in the future, its own camera will be able to create a "birth certificate" for photos taken, and will also provide trusted news organizations with tools to detect whether the pictures are "forged". However, Sony did not release more technical details of the features.

CTOnews.com noted that Sony said it would launch three Alpha 9 III, Alpha 1 and Alpha 7s III cameras next spring.
