The source code shows that the Sony PlayStation Portal serial handset is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 680chip.

CTOnews.com November 23 news, Sony announced in August this year its streaming handheld PlayStation Portal, currently on sale, priced at 29980 yen (CTOnews.com note: currently about 1439 yuan).

Sony has published the source code for the open source software used in the PlayStation Portal console, involving GNU GPL v2.0 /GNU GPL v2.1 /Mozilla Public License 2.0/ Eclipse Public License 1.0 and a number of other open source licenses.

According to the applicable open source software license, the CPU installed in Sony PlayStation Portal is identified as Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, but this seems to conflict with last week's disassembly information (Snapdragon 662).

According to Andrew K., the type of memory used indicates that it is indeed equipped with Snapdragon 680, because Snapdragon 662 does not support 4266 MHz LPDDR4X memory.

This device can be used with PS5 for streaming, so it is called "remote player" and belongs to PS5 dedicated streaming device. It features an 8-inch LCD screen, 1080p resolution at 60 fps, and handles that support adaptive triggers and tactile feedback.

PlayStation Portal can play "supported games" installed on PS5 consoles, according to reports.

It comes with a dedicated Dualsense controller, also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio, and does not support PS VR2 games that require headsets and games streamed through the PlayStation Plus Premium cloud.

PlayStation Portal Remote Play is currently available for $199.99, € 219.99, £ 199.99, and JPY 29,980.
