CTOnews.com, Nov. 24 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest list released by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has obtained a patent for finger devices that can cooperate with Vision Pro head displays to enable human-computer interaction in the virtual world.

In its patent, Apple outlines a way to obtain body tracking data through a body tracker.

The physical surface can be seen on the Vision Pro display, as well as a content operation area separate from the computer-generated trackpad representation.

The finger sleeve device worn on the user's hand can interact within the content operation area, for example, when the finger operation data instructs the finger wearable device to draw a circle on the computer-generated trackpad representation, the electronic device displays a corresponding representation of the circle in the content operation area. In some implementations, electronic devices track fingers at six degrees of freedom (6DOF) based on finger operation data. Therefore, even if the physical object obscures a portion of the finger wearable device, the electronic device continues to receive finger operation data from the finger wearable device.

As Apple introduced, Apple Vision users can use a virtual keyboard, and today's patent confirms that with a finger device, users will be able to use a virtual trackpad to manipulate content in the Vision Pro.
