The telescope array experiment detected the second highest-energy cosmic ray known so far on May 27, 2021, reaching 240 EeV, which is millions of times more energetic than the strongest particle produced by a man-made particle accelerator, so it is named Tianzhao Divine Particle.

Most cosmic rays are made up of protons and carry all kinds of energy through space, but extremely high-energy cosmic ray particles are bound to accelerate through something. Particles accelerated to more than 100 EeV of energy reach Earth only once a century, and more than 200 EeV are even rarer.
