2023Q3 European mobile phone market report: Samsung is down 6%, Apple is down 13%, Xiaomi is flat, Motorola is up 30%

CTOnews.com, November 25, according to the latest report released by market research firm Canalys, shipments of smartphones in Europe (excluding Russia) were 32 million in the third quarter of 2023, down 6% from the same period last year and 10 consecutive quarters of year-on-year decline.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Samsung's shipments fell 6% year-on-year, but remained first with a 35% market share; Apple's iPhone 15 was popular, but overall shipments fell 13% year-on-year, ranking second with a 22% share.

Brandon Gurney, a research analyst at Canalys, said:

Thanks to the popularity of a number of models in Central and Eastern Europe, including the Redmi Note 12, Xiaomi ranked third, with 6.2 million shipments in the European market, unchanged from a year earlier, and its market share increased by 1 percentage point to 19%.

Motorola continued to make progress in Europe, with shipments up 30 per cent year-on-year, reaching Lenovo's best quarterly results. TCL ranked in the top five, up 5 per cent year-on-year to 800000.
